Interview with Dr. Thomas Hebesberger, Head of Materials Development

The new standard for high-strength steels with unique deep-drawing properties

In terms of design freedom, the high-formability multi-phase steels developed by voestalpine sets a new standard. High-strength components with even more complex geometries can be achieved in economical cold forming. Head of Materials Development Dr. Thomas Hebesberger in an interview about this formidable novelty.

High formability multi-phase steel with formidable properties

  • High strength, exceptional cold formability
  • Complex component geometries possible
  • Steel grades with minimum tensile strengths of 980 MPa and 1180 MPa
  • Very low susceptibility to edge cracking
  • Excellent crash performance
  • Corrosion resistance based on EG coating
  • Also available in the greentec steel Edition with a reduced carbon footprint
