High-strength advantages for economical lightweight design

A hot recommendation in the field of hot forming. The high-strength hot-rolled drive steels have been developed especially for lightweight automotive design in order to be able to produce stamped components, even those with complex geometries, in an economical and reliable cold-forming process.

Exceeding the norm is the norm!

The hot-rolled drive steels impressively exceed the properties set forth in VDA 239-100. With thicknesses of up to 6 mm, they extend the thickness range beyond cold-rolled ahss steels. Their features and advantages are convincing:

  • Ideal for complex components with sheet thicknesses beginning at 2 mm
  • Ideal for cutting, punching, bending, deep drawing, welding
  • Narrowest thickness tolerances
  • Available in uncoated or hot-dip galvanized condition
  • Available in greentec steel with a reduced carbon footprint

More than optimum materials

Providing the best support is also the norm. Material parameters, component tests, data for forming and crash simulations are also available with expertise in welding technologies. When it comes to test deliveries or materials for prototype production, voestalpine provides support for the approval process and is highly flexible.

Broad steel spectrum, tailor-made solutions

Hot-rolled drive provides the optimum steel for a wide range of applications with a specific strength class and forming requirements:
