voestalpine Stahlwelt is being renovated
Since it opened its doors in 2009, voestalpine Stahlwelt has welcomed roughly 750,000 students and other guests who are interested in having a closer look at the innovations and technologies related to the production and use of steel. Beginning in July 2024, voestalpine Stahlwelt will undergo renovation for a period of roughly one and a half years. The renovation costs amount to approximately 20 million euros.
As an internationally leading steel and technology group, we want to adapt Stahlwelt so that it meets our expectations for a modern exhibition facility and give the technological and innovative diversity of voestalpine a more modern home.
Herbert Eibensteiner, CEO der voestalpine AG
Renovation is being supervised by ATELIER BRÜCKNER, an the internationally successful architectural firm based in Stuttgart that designed the Tutankhamun Gallery in the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, the BMW Museum in Munich and the Democracy Center in the Austrian Parliament in Vienna.
