Mexico in the fast lane
The Mexican automotive industry has been experience an economic upswing since 2009. The largest automotive manufacturers from throughout the world produce their cars here: General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, VW, Honda, BMW and Toyota. In an international comparison in 2015 and with a total of 3.6 produced cars and trucks, the vehicle manufacturing industry in Mexico was in seventh place behind China, the United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea and India. More than 45 different car and truck models are currently being manufactured in Mexico.
At the Automotive Meeting in Querétaro, roughly 650 exhibiters from 21 countries presented their products and services to 1,600 specialists, big players such as Daimler, MAN, Toyota and many more. Together with 13 other domestic companies, voestalpine was represented from 20 to 22 February at the Automotive Meeting at the stand of the Chamber of Commerce of Austria.
