High-ranking visitor interested in the past

Yesterday, President of Austria Heinz Fischer visited the voestalpine Historical Exhibit of the years between 1938 and 1945. He was accompanied by Herbert Eibensteiner, Chairman of the Management Board of the voestalpine Steel Division. Heinz Fischer took the time for a tour of the permanent exhibit.

During the thirty-minute visit, special interest was paid by the President of Austria to the manner in which the country has come to terms with forced labor and the fates of the affected individuals who were forced to labor between 1938 and 1945 at the Linz site of Reichswerke Hermann Göring AG Berlin. President Fischer was also very interested in the comprehensive leadership and educational programs for schools.
