Generali Ladies Linz 2012
The world-renowned tennis championship in Linz has never before seen such high-class participants. This year, the Olympic gold-medalist and top-ranking Victoria Azarenka will be playing.
Number one in Linz for the first time
For the 22nd time, the elite female tennis aces will be playing in Linz, and this time the organizers have almost outdone themselves. The list of stars who will be playing in the TipsArena is led by Victoria Azarenka of Belarus. Together with her fellow countryman Max Mirnyi, she won the gold medal in mixed doubles at the Olympic Games. Before that she won the bronze medal in women's singles.
Austria's hope
The Generali Ladies Linz presented by voestalpine from 6 to 14 October in the TipsArena has even more stars in store. Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova (ranked 14 by WTA) and the Italian Roberta Vinci (ranked 19 by WTA) are leading players who will be playing in Linz. Tamira Paszek of Vorarlberg will be the starting player for Austria. She played her first WTA championship in Linz and therefore has a special relationship with the Steel City. Of course she is looking forward to a lot of support from the local tennis fans during her "home game" in Linz.
