A high-profile press conference was held on 15 May 2013 in the voestalpine Stahlwelt to mark the anniversary. Dean of the Children's University in Steyr, Andreas Kupfer, and sponsors from the very beginning were in attendance: Provincial Governor Josef Pühringer, Provincial Council Rudolf Anschober, Provincial Council Doris Hummer and Wolfgang Eder, CEO of voestalpine. Everyone who spoke emphasized the high level of quality at the university and the paradigm change required in helping children to enjoy learning new things.
voestalpine Steel Division a new general sponsor
"The Children's University in Steyr is a shining example of how young people can be given completely new perspectives. That is why we find it so important to do something for the future of our children and youth. It is a joy and an honor for us to be able to provide assistance and make a sustainable contribution," Wolfgang Eder said.
The high level of relevancy for a company such as voestalpine to enthuse young people to become more involved in research and gaining more knowledge explains why the voestalpine Steel Division is so interested in promoting young talent.
