New brazing flux pastes by Fontargen Brazing

25 August 2024 |

Fontargen Brazing introduces two additions to its product portfolio. FONTARGEN F 300 DS 10, a dispensable flux paste for brazing copper and copper alloys and a newly developed flux paste FONTARGEN F 300 H Ultra NT  for silver brazing applications. Revolutionize your brazing with visible control, the highest reliability and reproducibility.

FONTARGEN F 300 H Ultra NT - Revolutionize brazing with visible control

Fontargen Brazing has developed a new flux paste for silver brazing applications that transforms color upon reaching the optimal working temperature for soldering. Means, a yellow color that turns transparent close to brazing temperature (approx. 600 °C/1112 °F). This makes it much easier for the operator to gauge the right moment when to apply the braze filler metal.

This solution offers you several benefits:

  • Transforming flux color provides visibility of the proper surface temperature for bringing the rod to the brazing joint in a timely manner
  • Prevents overheating of utilized components, avoiding bad brazing seams and even scrap
  • Convenient for manual flame brazing applications such as on construction sites
  • Facilitates homogeneous heating of complex components

The color transition shows the operator the heat distribution across the entire surface of the components.

„NT“ stands for “NON TOXIC". That flux does not contain any SVHC (Substances of very high concern) components. It is not classified as hazardous, nor is it harmful to operators - which means it is also boric acid free, as are all our fluxes.

Step 1: Apply Flux & Heat
Step 2: Color Transition
Step 3: Solder starts to flow after color change

FONTARGEN F 300 DS 10 - For the highest reliability and reproducibility

FONTARGEN F 300 DS 10 is a dispensable flux paste for brazing copper and copper alloys such as brass/bronze, as well as steel and mixed joints. Pneumatic dosing valves or cartridge systems can be used for dosing. This ensures a high degree of reliability in the reproducibility of the flux quantities applied.

The flux paste does not contain any SVHC substances (Substance of Very High Concern) and is therefore compliant with the current REACH regulation and is not a dangerous good in water, land or air transport.

Your Benefits

  • Homogeneous distribution of the paste and very good adhesion - No mixing or stirring required
  • Good activation is the prerequisite for high strength of the brazed joint
  • Transparent flux melt – visual control possible
  • Dispensable – application of reproducible flux quantities

Typical Applications

  • Inductive brazing of tube joints
  • Induction brazing of carbide steel
  • Partially or fully automatic brazing systems
