I did my bachelor's degree in business informatics at a university of applied sciences in Graz and had to gain practical experience in a company during my studies. I then applied for a part-time position at group-IT in Kapfenberg and started working there. After graduating, I wanted to stay with the company and then switched to a full-time position at group-IT in Linz. I have now been working as a project manager since November 2021.
In my job, I plan, manage and coordinate projects. This includes documenting and communicating with employees and customers. I check that projects are on time, on budget, and on scope, and I adjust the planning if necessary. My job is really varied and full of challenges that want to be mastered. The dynamic and exciting tasks mean I never know what to expect.
What I remember particularly fondly is my visit to the site in Singapore. When I was on vacation there, I took the opportunity to get to know my colleagues there personally. The cooperation and working atmosphere among all colleagues are generally very good. Communication is excellent, and helpfulness and friendliness are very important. You feel comfortable and are quickly integrated when you start.
It is important for me to do what I love and at the same time achieve a good work-life balance. What I appreciate most about group-IT are the flexible working hours, the home office and the opportunity to work with many colleagues, also internationally. In addition, there are many opportunities to develop and work in other areas without having to leave the company.
