Gerald Stepan has been Managing Director of voestalpine group-IT in the EMEA region with locations in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden since mid-2022. He has been working in the group for more than 15 years in various responsibilities and divisions.
After graduating from the Vienna University of Technology, he started his professional career in the controlling department of a manufacturing company and dedicated himself to his doctoral studies. The change to the IT sector led his career path in various industries and in the international environment. He joined the voestalpine group via Böhler Uddeholm in 2006.
The merger of the group-IT company in Sweden with the German and Dutch companies was a particular highlight and challenge, as in addition to the technical and legal issues, the cultural characteristics of all countries had to be taken into account.
The mix of employees in our region is what makes us successful. On the one hand, we can draw on the many years of experience and established knowledge of our employees; on the other hand, the high demand for our IT services enables us to continuously grow. The young as well as experienced newcomers bring in new skills and aspects.
Gerald Stepan likes to spoil his wife and two grown-up sons with a good espresso. Despite numerous business trips, the hobby barista always tries to spend enough time with his family and to pursue his passions: sports, home improvement and photography.
