Job Day at voestalpine Tubulars in Kindberg
The information afternoon for potential apprentices took place this year on January 20 and provided information about our numerous apprenticeships.
The information afternoon for potential apprentices took place this year on January 20 and provided information about our numerous apprenticeships.
This year's Job Day started at 1 p.m. with a welcome by our Production Manager Dr. Reinhold Reisner.
At a total of 4 stations, apprenticeships were presented for which there are currently still vacancies.
Metallurgy and forming technicians work in our company primarily work on furnaces and equipment for tube manufacture
(rolling mill) and further heat treatment. In the process knowledge of processes and equipment across all operations, gain
gain technical and practical experience in steel in steel processing and gain an overview of all production of all production steps. Training begins in the first year at the apprentice workshop in Kapfenberg and then continues in the company. In the course of the training also includes courses in pneumatics, hydraulics, cranes and forklifts.
At the end of the apprenticeship, metallurgy and metal forming technicians can -and forming technicians will be able to monitor, operate, maintain and automated equipment, and ensure the required product quality and ensure the required product quality and eliminate simple.
(Apprenticeship: electrical engineering - plant, operating, automation and process control technology)
Electrical engineers plan, assemble, install and maintain electrical equipment and systems. New technologies and
and the demand for ever greater energy efficiency and at the same time flexibility at the same time are developments that present them with ever ever new challenges. As a result, electrical engineers are increasingly becoming all-round technicians in building, plant, operating and energy technology.
Electrical engineers specializing in automation and process control technology are and process control technology are responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of highly complex systems. Their tasks include searching for and eliminating and optimizing and adapting automation and process control automation and process control systems.
(apprenticeships: mechanical engineering technology, machining technology)
Metal technicians in mechanical engineering manufacture workpieces and and components for machines and production plants and assemble them. They program and operate computer-aided (CNC) machine tools on which the individual components are components are produced exactly according to drawings and dimensional specifications and thus ensure the smoothest possible operation of the trouble-free operation of the machines and systems, as downtimes due to defects can be downtimes due to defects result in very high downtime costs. Mechanical engineering technicians assemble the individual parts into finished machines and systems, assemble them at their and connect them to mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
They test and adjust the machines and components and put them into operation. They then carry out trial runs, test the functionality of the components and make corrections to the settings.
An important area of responsibility is the maintenance and repair of machines and systems. In the event of malfunctions, they systematically using measuring equipment to find the cause of the fault, disassemble the defective components, replace defective parts and, if necessary produce spare parts themselves.
Metal technicians in machining technology are involved with the planning, manufacturing and processing workpieces by means of machining (e.g. drilling, milling, turning, filing, grinding), turning, filing, grinding). Their workpieces include machine parts such as axles, shafts, rollers, bolts, wedges, rollers, gears or pulleys, as well as specimens for further
tests.
They plan the work steps, select the required materials and and standard parts and manufacture the workpieces according to technical plans and specifications. In the process conventional machine tools (e.g. lathes, drilling machines, milling and
grinding machines), but above all computer-controlled (CNC) machines are used.
You will program and modify production programs for CNC machine tools and transfer CAD designs into the the production programs (CAM). They inspect the finished workpieces for errors and defects and, if necessary and, if necessary, make corrections and adjustments to the production programs.
Machinists also carry out fine manual work on the workpiece, such as precision work on the workpiece, such as filing, sawing, polishing or thread cutting.
(Apprenticeship: materials testing, with additional module heat treatment)
Materials technicians carry out mechanical, chemical and physical physical tests on materials. They test these materials for load-bearing capacity, elasticity, toughness, hardness, chemical composition and corrosion resistance. They use various test methods, document the results and evaluate them. On the basis of these tests, the quality of the products can be guaranteed and improved.
This job ranges from non-destructive testing of the quality assurance to basic research in the field of research and development. in the field of research and development. Furthermore materials testers are responsible for the quality and safety of the various products and are involved in the development of new materials.
In the additional module Heat Treatment, the theoretical and practical fundamentals are learned in order to achieve the desired properties of the products in this process step.
Of course, all participants were also able to get a taste of the working world themselves during practical exercises.
In an estimation game - the weight of a pipe sample was estimated - 3 participants came very close to the actual weight with their assumptions and were presented with Kindberg vouchers as prizes.
At the end of the event, the participants had a snack together and, in addition to gaining many new experiences, they were also able to take home goodie bags.
We are already looking forward to our apprentices who will start their training in the fall of 2023!
On YouTube, you can watch our apprentice videos and listen to what our apprentices have to say about their training.
