USM AND voestalpine – A FORWARD-LOOKING COOPERATION IN THE FURNITURE SECTOR
The Swiss-based company USM (U. Schärer Söhne AG) is known for its timeless and high-quality modular furniture. Recently, USM signed a Memorandum of Understanding with voestalpine in the field of greentec steel. Both companies are committed to CO2-reducing practices in their processes and product manufacturing. Thus, USM's expertise in furniture design is combined with voestalpine's innovation in material technology. The use of steel in the greentec steel edition will help USM further reduce its CO2 emissions in line with its science-based targets.
SWISS FURNITURE - MADE TO LAST
USM is already considered a design classic and has been officially included in the permanent design collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA). The furniture, composed of just a few basic elements, offers customized solutions that can be expanded or reconfigured as needed. Each piece of furniture thus offers space for maximum versatility and creativity, and thanks to the use of high-quality materials, all USM product lines are long-lasting. We love that!
GREENTEC STEEL IS IN STYLE
Both companies are committed to environmentally friendly practices and aim to make their processes and products more sustainable. By using products in the greentec steel edition, USM has a unique opportunity to develop even more environmentally friendly solutions.
USM's furniture pieces show that timeless design, innovation, and sustainability do not exclude each other. Tradition meets functionality and (environmentally) conscious material selection - perfect!
