INNOVATIVE CONTAINER WITH GREEN DNA

In a world looking for sustainable solutions, Swedish companies HNP and Maxon are setting a shining example. They manufacture innovative and robust containers using the greentec steel Edition of voestalpine and demonstrate how the industry can become more efficient and sustainable when it comes to scrap and waste handling.

THE NEED TO INNOVATE COULD NEVER BEEN STRONGER

The success story of the innovative containers began at HNP, a Swedish steel and service center. Founder Heinz Nilsson, known for his pragmatic inventiveness, was looking for a solution to the challenges of scrap handling. Frequent damage and inefficient discharging in traditional containers often led to production interruptions. Nilsson quickly developed a container with bottom discharge that can be easily lifted by a forklift and opened using a patented mechanism. The new design saves time, resources and money.

Together with Maxon, a company specializing in industrial and wood packaging materials, the containers became successful on the market and are used in several industries, including in the steel and wood industry as well as recycling companies. Well-known customers such as Scania, Knauf, IKEA and Uponor use the innovative containers in their daily operations.

MAKING GOOD EVEN BETTER

The advanced version of the container is made of high-strength steel and is 35% lighter. In an effort to reduce its carbon footprint and set a higher standard for a sustainable future, HNP uses greentec steel, the environmentally friendly premium steel grade of voestalpine.
