The Metal Forming Division is a pioneer in high-strength structural parts, especially when it comes to corrosion resistance. Components made of phs-ultraform® are a convincing answer to increased demands on light-weight structural members with respect to safety and economy efficiency. phs-ultraform® is the ultimate standard in press-hardened structural parts.
phs-ultraform® : The ultimate standard in the automotive industry
phs-ultraform® hot-forming technology was developed and patented by voestalpine and is a unique press-hardening process for specially galvanized material. The components made using this process combine all of the advantages of press-hardened steel with excellent cathodic corrosion protection for optimized light-weight solutions.
phs-directform® : The future in sight
We are already working on further optimization, which will include a direct process for hot forming with unique cathodic corrosion protection.
This will place us in a position to cover the entire range of high-strength and hot-formed products and will be able to offer components made by using both the direct (galvanized or AlSi coatings) and the indirect process (zinc-galvanized).
Worldwide availability of the technology will make it possible for us to provide our customers with these high-tech products around the globe (production in the EU, the United States and China).
