In the world's largest plant for tailor-welded blanks, door ring blanks can be manufactured from different steels with different sheet thicknesses and strengths. Welded-on patches can further strengthen the crash performance at relevant points with pinpoint accuracy. The voestalpine specialists provide support starting with the selection of materials, the optimization of design and geometry, through to the production design of the component including pre-assembling to enable the best possible body-in-white integration.

Reduced CO2 footprint with Door Rings by voestalpine: Hot forming requires energy. To ensure it is as efficient as possible, voestalpine uses the latest laser technologies, has further optimized hot forming technology and equips its global forming companies with, among other things, the most environmentally friendly burners and its own energy supply from renewable sources.
A demonstrable environmental benefit for customers: But it is not only in production that we are sustainably ahead. All door ring blanks made of voestalpine steels are also available in the greentec steel edition with a reduced CO2 footprint. The CO2 footprint of greentec steel products is documented with a declaration verified by an independent third party (LRQA). Customers can then prove the reduction of their emissions to their customers.
