27,000 voestalpine employees will be sent assembly kits to make their own personal illuminated letters. Anyone who doesn't want to make their letters alone at home can join other employees and work at the Ars Electronica labs on special employee days.
A separate area has been reserved for everyone who brings their letters with them to Donaupark on September 1, 2012, and is part of the voestalpine Klangwolke. There you can also view the exhibits made in cooperation with the Linz trainees.
voestalpine also gives people who are not part of the company an opportunity to participate in the voestalpine Klangwolke by taking part in workshops being held on July 26 and August 16. The workshops are about making music, digitally reworking sounds and the exploration of various rooms and the surroundings. As a part of these workshops, the participants will experience the voestalpine SoundWalk held on the Linz plant grounds. The route leads through the hot rolling mill where produced steel is rolled out to steel strips, continues to the giant galvanizing machines and ends at state-of-the art blank manufacturing.
