Our Roadmap to Success

Breakthrough solutions do not come about by chance or overnight. This is how you and your experts from voestalpine Wire Technology come to your tailor-made solution step by step:

  • We think holistically. In many cases, a new alloy concept is created virtually on the computer. Cooperation with universities and research institutions ensures access to cutting edge knowledge and the possibility of designing products from the atomic level up to forming processes and application properties.

     

  • With the metallurgy laboratory (MetLab) and the technical center for metallurgy (TechMet), you have two globally unique research facilities at your disposal. New alloys can be tested and innovated on a very small scale; moreover, individual analyzes are possible in a short time. In the MetLab you can get laboratory samples for pre-tests from 8 kg to a maximum of 50 kg. In addition, individual 5-ton billets can be cast in the TechMet, with which the processability in the hot rolling mill is checked and the first customer samples are provided.

     

  • The development of our high-quality wires includes the coordination of material and surface properties. In addition, we are continuously improving wire forming in our rolling mill, in the drawing mills, and for customers who process the wires into complex products. Another focus of the development work is finding the right balance between processing and usage properties depending on your requirements.

     

  • Our research and application engineering team has a deep understanding of material properties and the functionality of your products. Our own testing facilities and our extensive research network support you in overcoming these challenges.
