Sport, fun, good mood and perfect weather ...

Fantastic weather prevailed at this year's LE running event, which is always very popular with voestalpine's sports enthusiasts: 142 employees took part this year - including colleagues from voestalpine Wire Technology. Congratulations!

66 minutes through Leoben: A race for individual runners, 3-person relay teams and Nordic walkers - with a somewhat different backdrop than usual. The course leads over a 2 km long circuit - past the sights of the city of Leoben and through the pedestrian zone of the city center. On this course, the individual runners and the participants of the 3-man relay had to complete as many laps as possible in 66 minutes.

More than 100 voestalpine employees took part on a special challenge at the end of September. Alone or in teams of 3, they had to master the 9.6 km circuit through Kapfenberg - Performance in Wire teams were also part of the race.

In front of an enthusiastic audience, the main competition started punctually at 3 p.m. at the open-air swimming pool in Kapfenberg. Full of energy, the participants set off on the course along the Mürz River. From the Franz Fekete Stadium they went to Werk VI and back to the starting point at the open-air swimming pool in Kapfenberg. The route, which was just over 9 kilometers long, led through the Kapfenberg floodplain forest, past various companies, educational institutions and businesses. In total there were six challenging but easily manageable inflatable obstacles.

The youngest participants gave their best in the 800 meter Kids Challenge in the area of the stadium and the outdoor pool. The Junior Challenge offered an exciting 1,200 meters for the 2009 to 2012 age groups. Before the adult athletes reached the finish line, a refreshing challenge awaited them: the Water Challenge - they had to swim across the outdoor pool.

Each participant received a finisher medal in recognition of their achievement. After the festive award ceremony, the runners enjoyed delicious food on the terrace of the Stadthalle Kapfenberg, including the specially created Werk VI burger and other grilled specialties. The perfect accompaniment for this enjoyable moment was a live concert by Trashbax, which participants and spectators enjoyed together to end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
