From YouTube to Reality: Igor Welder's Exocar Project Powered by Böhler Welding Tools

Igor, the creative mind behind the YouTube channel “Igor Welder”, initially started his channel in 2016 with the intention of teaching welding techniques. But now, he's taking his content to a whole new level by exploring the fascinating world of welding electrode rods and showcasing their manufacturing process. And there he thought: “Who better to partner with than Böhler Welding, the most renowned consumables brand in the industry”.

After reaching out to voestalpine Böhler Welding, Igor received our enthusiastic approval to film a behind-the-scenes video on how welding electrode rods are made. This collaboration aims to answer the burning question of many of Igor's followers: Where do welding rods actually come from? Get ready for an informative and captivating video that dives deep into the manufacturing process! 

But that's not all! Inspired by a YouTube video featuring a mind-blowing Exocar project, Igor embarked on his own adventure to build an Exocar. However, he couldn't do it alone. With limited resources, he approached us and shared his vision. To his delight, we were immediately on board and provided him with the necessary Böhler Welding equipment and welding rods to bring his dream to life.

Using the Böhler Welding plasma cutter, Igor swiftly cut down the shell of an old E36 BMW Compact, transforming it into the perfect foundation for the Exocar. With the reliable Böhler Welding MIG/MAG machine, he skillfully welded the chassis, removed unnecessary wiring, and installed essential components like the bumper and radiator. The project is now well underway, with the front suspension, running gear, and finishing touches remaining.

Throughout this incredible journey, Igor has relied on an array of Böhler Welding tools. The plasma cutter proved to be a powerful ally, effortlessly slicing through various materials, while the MIG/MAG welder exhibited its versatility by handling thin metal sheets and thicker flanges with ease.
