The first ever Tubulars Talks Episode - A great start for more to come

Our podcast series kicked off with our colleagues from the Renewables department, who first gave a brief insight into their professional careers and then talked about their current role at voestalpine Tubulars.

With Bernhard Frieß, responsible for Business Development and Strategy, Robert Hofbauer, Global Sales Manager for Renewables products, and Jürgen Klarner, Director of Research, Development & Innovation, we had the opportunity to talk to three real experts in their field and capture their opinions on the topic of the energy transition.

What is meant by renewables in general?

After the introduction, the podcast guests jumped straight into the topic, discussing the general importance of renewable energy (renewables) and its relevance today and in the future.

Renewables, by definition, are energy sources that do not run out when used and play a crucial role in sustainable energy supply, particularly in the field of geothermal energy and hydrogen technology. These renewable resources provide an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional energy sources, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. In other words, renewable energies are essentially energy sources that do not disappear when used and include solar, wind, hydro and geothermal energy.

At voestalpine Tubulars, renewables are sustainable product solutions used primarily for hydrogen and geothermal applications.

The energy transition and voestalpine Tubular's role in it

With its Renewables product portfolio, voestalpine Tubulars aims to play a leading role in the energy transition from conventional energy to renewable energy sources. Strong diversification towards renewables therefore affects the entire value chain, from raw materials to production.
