Precision meets movement: Our logistics solutions at glance

10 February 2025 |

As a global manufacturer of seamless high-tech tubes, we ship our products all over the world. To ensure smooth and timely delivery, we have developed sophisticated logistics solutions with our long-standing and reliable partners. Discover the exciting world of logistics and learn more about the journey of our products.

From our factory in Kindberg, where all our products are manufactured, we supply customers all over the world. The right choice and implementation of logistics solutions play a key role in ensuring that products are delivered flawlessly and on time. We rely on long-standing, reliable partners with whom we work together to ensure the safe transport of our products.

The different requirements of the transport routes are particularly important. For just-in-time deliveries, we rely on transport by trucks in close coordination with our freight forwarding partners. Another option is the delivery by rail directly from our production site in Kindberg, which is mainly used for standard orders. For our customers with international final destinations such as America, transport is carried out by vessel. With central loading stations like Monfalcone, Italy, we are able to load the pipes to be shipped onto the transport vessel and prepare them for the journey across the Atlantic.

We were there for you at the port of Monfalcone to give you an exclusive insight into the handling and collaboration of our logistics team.

Matteo Mosca-Riatel, Commercial Director Friultrans

voestalpine Tubulars is a company that grants great dialogue with their suppliers. It's very explicit in their requirements and needs, making port handling and operations really seamless.

Christina Stanta, Director Public Relations & Corporate Development, voestalpine Tubulars:

We offer diverse supply chain solutions — products can be delivered by train, trucks for just-in-time shipments, or by vessel for international destinations, as you can see here in the background.

Allan Roland Cobacha, Captain of Vessel "Floretgracht", Spliethoff

Our ship is called a general corporal ship, equipped with three cranes, allowing us to load and discharge by ourselves. For pipes, the key is ensuring no damage from loading to unloading. We also plan routes efficiently to avoid rolling during long voyages, especially across the Atlantic.

Kevin Wattala, Transport Planning, voestalpine Tubulars

We rely on long-standing partners to develop sophisticated logistics systems. It’s essential that our pipes are stowed below deck to avoid contact with saltwater, preventing corrosion. During the Atlantic crossing, waves can reach 10 meters or higher, and things can quickly go wrong without proper planning.
