Long Night of Research: Insights into the world of voestalpine Tubulars

3 June 2024 |

Under the motto "Join in. Marvel. Discover." numerous research institutions and companies opened their doors on May 24, 2024 for the "Long Night of Research", which offers fascinating insights into current research projects and makes science accessible to everyone.

In Kindberg, around 200 interested visitors took the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at voestalpine Tubulars.

The meeting point was our automotive hall, where visitors could find out about a wide range of products, career opportunities and current R&D developments at information stands and listen to a presentation on sustainability. Of course, food and drinks as well as inviting seating were also available.

From the automotive hall, the tour continued to the seamless tube rolling mill and/or the test center. In the tube mill, visitors were given a tour of the plant with numerous facts about production and were able to marvel at the still glowing, freshly rolled seamless tubes.

In the test center, there was a look behind the scenes. Our team provided in-depth insights into the numerous test facilities and test procedures that our products undergo.

It was really cool to see the factory from the inside and to get so much interesting information about the production of the pipes. In the test center, you really became aware of how much know-how goes into the products.

Once again, you could feel the great team spirit and the interest of our team. Among the many visitors were also numerous former employees who were interested in the developments of voestalpine Tubulars even after their retirement. The new VTS-edgeTubes in particular aroused great interest. Samples of these and many other products were on display, and the colleagues left no questions unanswered.

We would also like to thank all the helpers involved once again for the great cooperation!

All in all, the "Long Night of Research" was a great success. We hope that this evening was able to both arouse curiosity and quench the thirst for knowledge.
