Successful "Long Energy Day" at voestalpine Tubulars in Kindberg

27 June 2024 |

The experts at the voestalpine sites in Donawitz and Kindberg offered a special kind of experience tour on the "Long Energy Day". The guided tours were well attended and the look behind the scenes gave visitors fascinating insights into the current and future energy supply.

Exciting impressions from the energy supply

In Kindberg, the participants were able to visit the hydropower plant located on site, the photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the pipe mill with an impressive output of 4 MW and the newly built special chimney for extracting up to 4 MW of waste heat from the rotary hearth furnace. The program was rounded off with exciting insights into the grid supply.

Our company fire department ensured smooth transportation between the various stations, guaranteeing a comfortable and safe tour.

The last time I was at voestalpine Tubulars was 40 years ago, and it's nice to see what has happened since then.

said one visitor, impressed by the progress and innovations at the site.

The audience was a colorful mix of young and old. The interested questions from the visitors led to lively discussions and, due to the high demand, time-lapse videos of revision work at the plant were shown at the end. These showed, among other things, the rotary hearth furnace, the hydroelectric power station, the revision of the roller table and the hollow section rolling mill.

There was also a great deal of interest in the hollow sections, which represent an important part of production.

It was an informative morning with lots of positive feedback and beaming faces to match the bright sunshine. Not only the organizers were happy about this, but also the photovoltaic system, which was running at full speed that day.

We would like to thank all visitors for their interest and look forward to future events of this kind.
