Not only was the first test-rolling of seamless hollow sections successfully completed in March 2024, but in September of this year our hollow sections finishing line was commissioned. This was followed shortly afterwards by the first deliveries of our VTS®-edgeTubes to customers in a wide range of industries.
As with the hollow section rolling mill, the biggest challenge in the planning and construction of the entire finisihing line was the time factor.
In parallel with the establishment of the sales structure and the rebuild of the seamless hollow section rolling mill, the planning phase for the hollow section finishing line started in June 2023.
The hall construction was completed at the beginning of March 2024, and the first straightening tests were successfully carried out just six months later after 10,000 accident-free project hours.
The finishing line is located after the hot-rolling in the production process and finishes and adjusts the rolled hollow sections so that it can ultimately be delivered to our customers in high quality. The finishing line meets the latest standards and enables reliable and high-quality execution of the individual production steps after the hot-rolling process, such as straightening and inspection of the hollow sections for geometry, inhomogeneities and other important product properties.

The successful commissioning of the hollow sections finishing line also meant that the first customer orders were completed and delivered to the customer's satisfaction.
