MORE ECO FOR FLAMCO: voestalpine SUPPLIES greentec steel
More and more renowned companies like Flamco, the internationally acclaimed specialist in building technologies, are relying on the green steel of voestalpine. Currently around 10 percent of direct CO2 emissions from steelmaking at the Linz site can be saved in this manner, and the percentage is increasing. Production at voestalpine will be entirely CO2-neutral by 2050.
As part of the Dutch Aalberts Group, Flamco supplies building systems, including high-tech and sustainable heating solutions. Flamco has been relying on the premium quality of voestalpine steel strip for years, and has been purchasing greentec steel Edition products since the spring of 2022. The company uses greentec steel to make products such as pressure expansion vessels for drinking water.
Flamco moved into new headquarters in Almere (The Netherlands) in 2021, and the company’s new home is a testament to sustainable design and operation, underscoring the great emphasis that Flamco places on protection of the environment.

GREEN STEEL PRODUCTION IS WHAT IT’S ALL ABOUT
The growing number of orders for greentec steel underlines the arguments for CO2-reduced products made by voestalpine to coincide with the strategies of our customers.
The next step will be to reduce CO2emissions generated in steelmaking by a whopping 30 percent by the year 2030 before we achieve CO2-neutral production in the year 2050.
