MAXIMUM PROTECTION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The transport of goods on lightweight railcars made of the greentec steel Edition is what EUROWAGON is now banking on. We have a new green reason to celebrate. TransANT GmbH has approved a great new joint venture with EUROWAGON, a Polish railcar leasing company, and will soon supply 25 new freight cars in the voestalpine greentec steel Edition.

SAVING PAYS OFF, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU’RE SAVING CO2.

The contract has now been signed and sealed: TransANT and EUROWAGON rely on the greentec steel Edition for their latest freight cars, and that's good for the environment and railway transports. This is because it is possible to save roughly three tons of CO2 emissions per railcar. This can be compared with the CO2 emissions of a mid-range vehicle after driving 15,000 kilometers on the road.

TransANT perfectly completes our list of suppliers and shares our commitment to providing the highest quality and safety.

60 FEET WITH A RESPECTABLE CARBON FOOTPRINT

Specifically, TransANT is supplying Poland's largest independent railcar company, EUROWAGON, with 25 lightweight 60-foot freight cars. EUROWAGON leases its railcars to industrial and railroad companies as well as freight forwarders throughout Europe.

As a new European manufacturer of state-of-the-art lightweight freight cars, TransANT sends a strong signal for the future in the railway freight car sector. With a total dead weight of only 16.5 tons when used in intermodal transport and a length of 19.8 meters, a wide variety of goods can be transported in an environmentally friendly way. The lightweight railcar is particularly suited to the transport of heavy bulk goods because the maximum load permitted by railroad law can be utilized to a greater extent. The new intermodal railcars are made of high-quality voestalpine material in the greentec steel edition, resulting in roughly 10% fewer direct carbon emissions in production.

We are proud to have EUROWAGON as a partner for our first TransANT lightweight freight cars and are looking forward to seeing them in action as they revolutionize the market.

FLEXIBILITY IS EVERYTHING

The customers of EUROWAGON can use the freight cars to transport containers or containerized bodies in lengths of 20, 30 and 40 feet. As transport requirements change, the TransANT railcar can be used for modular and customized 60-foot units. This increases flexibility in railcar utilization.

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FOR ITS ENTIRE SERVICE LIFE

The joint venture of TransANT and EUROWAGON ensures sustainable development in the field of freight transports. Ultimate reduction of the carbon footprint is the goal throughout the service life of the product, from manufacturing to increased payload and reduced energy consumption on the railway. More importantly, the two flagship companies are setting new standards throughout the industry.

That's what I call sustainability. We have known for a long time that trains pollute the air much less than trucks or airplanes. And even the train is made of green steel. It doesn’t get any better than that.
