Safety Days within the voestalpine Rotec Group

10 July 2024 |

What do fire extinguishers, drunk goggles simulating alcohol impairment, personal protective equipment, forklifts and cranes have in common? They were all part of our comprehensive, company-wide Safety Days in June.

Each voestalpine Rotec site developed interactive training stations engaging both blue and white-collar employees to raise awareness for one of our fundamental principles: safe and healthy working. This initiative reinforces our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment and advancing our ambitious voestalpine Rotec Group mission of ‘Zero Accidents’.

Key Highlights of the Safety Days with the voestalpine Rotec Group:

  • Global participation: About 1,200 voestalpine Rotec employees across 8 countries participated in these safety trainings.
  • Internal expertise: The majority of the training sessions were led by our own internal colleagues. We had 64 active internal trainers and over 20 additional supporters, including guides and external experts.
  • Close Training Approach: We conducted over 40 sessions/circles, each further divided into smaller groups of 7-15 participants per station, ensuring focused and personalized training.
  • Customized programs: The training programs were tailored to meet the specific needs of each site. While every location had its unique agenda, common focus areas included Red Lines and safety awareness, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Crane and/or Forklift Safety, First Aid, Fire Protection and/or Emergency Evacuation.

A heartfelt thank you to our trainers for their hard work and dedication, and to all participants for their commitment to safety. For us, the health and safety of our employees is our top priority and non-negotiable.
