Our In-House Toolmaking: Maximum Flexibility and Quality

At four international Rotec locations, we maintain specialized toolmaking departments ("toolshops") that contribute significantly to the high quality of our products and offer maximum flexibility through their extensive experience in manufacturing highly complex tools. Our specialists not only design and produce advanced tools for tube production, forming, and processing but also ensure rapid prototype manufacturing and develop smart solutions, such as systems for quality assurance of final products – delivering clear added value for our customers.
Flexible Adaptation and Rapid Prototype Development
One of the key advantages of our in-house toolmaking is the ability to respond flexibly to customer requirements and deliver prototypes quickly. Our teams specialize in creating tailored solutions and efficiently implementing even short-notice changes. This accelerates product development, reduces time-to-market, and enhances our agility in executing complex projects. For instance, drawing tools (dies and plugs) for round tubes and special profiles are developed exclusively in-house. Additionally, many of the specialized tools required for our advanced processing equipment are produced by our experts.
International Collaboration and Expertise
Regular international knowledge sharing between our toolshops is a valuable source of innovation and continuous improvement. By exchanging experiences and expertise, we consistently develop new, creative approaches for more efficient and durable solutions.
Recently, we implemented a system that allows our international Rotec locations to submit custom requests directly to our toolshops. Within a short time, our procurement teams receive internal quotes, and after a positive cost-benefit analysis, the order is placed without external intermediaries. Often, our experts provide direct feedback on these requests, offering clear recommendations for further quality improvements, such as enhanced surface finishes. Access to expertise across all locations enables tailor-made solutions and fosters an optimized production chain.
