Grand Paris Express, one of the most extensive infrastructure projects in Europe is going into the next round. voestalpine Railway Systems has already supplied turnouts for lines 15-1 and 16-3 and has now been selected again as a supplier.
Grand Paris Express is an automated transport network. With its 68 new stations and 200 kilometers of additional track, Grand Paris Express consists of a ring route around Paris (Line 15) and lines connecting new districts (Lines 16, 17, and 18). The new lines will carry 2 million commuters a day.
For the new Line 18, 58 turnouts have been ordered. The line will be 35 km long, will have ten stations, and will cross 13 municipalities in three departments. The turnouts were deliberately laid on concrete sleepers with rubber shoes to meet the defined vibration criteria.
voestalpine Railway Systems offers turnout systems that are optimized in terms of noise, vibration, and maintenance. With system solutions from a single source, we offer customized products with optimized life cycle costs. The innovative design also ensures fast installation, replacement, and track possession times through the use of pre-assembled parts, as well as efficiency and durability.
Pierre Porgroult, Managing Director - CSO voestalpine Railway Systems France SAS, is excited about the continued collaboration,
Together we have been able to deliver first-class products for previous Grand Paris projects in the past. Thanks to this great reputation and local proximity to the construction sites, we were able to win again as a system supplier with turnout and signaling technology."
