June 10, 2014 | Metsec’s Hepsec division, the leader in light gauge cold-rolled steel products for the dry lining, partitioning and ceiling industry, has launched a new fleet of delivery lorries, underpinning the professionalism of the company’s logistics operations. Featuring the eye catching red and black Metsec brand, the Scania Highline fleet consists of three tractor units and six urban trailers.
The new haulage will be used to make an average of 20 deliveries each day to some 75 depots across the country, as well as deliveries direct to site.
The shorter wheel base trailers will enable increased efficiency over articulated trucks or rigid vehicles. They are ideal for maneuvering in small spaces such as town centres and urban locations. The tractors already meet Euro 6 compliance in line with future EU emissions targets, underpinning Metsec’s sustainability policy by helping to reduce the company’s carbon footprint well in advance of the legislative requirement.
Andy Rice, general manager of Metsec’s Hepsec division comments: “The new fleet represents a consistent attitude of improvement towards the way we service our customers. Hepsec strives to ensure fast and efficient delivery of all products. Our extensive stock of dry lining systems means we are able to respond quickly to customers’ needs. Thanks to our Midlands location customers’ depots anywhere in the country are serviced effectively through this integrated approach to logistics and product handling.”
The new lorries are one of a series of changes Metsec is making, to embrace its fresh new branding. The move represents the company’s wider objective to unify the individual divisions under a common look and feel that is aligned to its dynamic approach to operations.
