Tool Steel
Cold forming is a manufacturing process widely used in the automotive industry and also for home appliances. Typically sheet material is bended or press formed.
New demanding sheet metal materials bring new challenges to your tooling solutions! The tool steel selection depends primarily on the type of work material strength, thickness, and part complexity. The most critical failure mechanisms for softer work materials (≤300 HB) are abrasive wear and adhesive wear while for harder work materials (>300 HB), they are abrasive wear, adhesive wear, galling and plastic deformation.
