Martin Fuhrmann new member of the Management Board of the voestalpine Group’s High Performance Metals Division

After almost 20 years with the voestalpine Group, Martin Fuhrmann (51) joined the Management Board team of the High Performance Metals Division on April 1, 2024. The Burgenland native is now responsible for the division’s sales and service area, which includes around 75 companies at a total of over 130 locations on five continents. He has thus taken over the responsibilities of Reinhard Nöbauer who, as previously reported, has been appointed to the Management Board of voestalpine AG and is now Head of the High Performance Metals Division. The High Performance Metals Division specializes in the production and processing of tool and special steels, for example for the global automotive, energy, and aerospace industries, and generated revenue of EUR 3.8 billion in the 2022/23 business year with around 13,700 employees.

I am delighted that I have been able to hand over my Management Board responsibilities in the sales and service area to an experienced top manager from our division: Martin Fuhrmann. As the former Head of the International Region, he has played a key role in shaping this area in the last years and knows the challenges of the market and the potential of our companies.

Since April 1, 2024, the Management Board team of the High Performance Metals Division has thus consisted of Reinhard Nöbauer (Management), Martin Fuhrmann (Sales and Value Added Services), Gerhard Gerstmayr (Production), and Markus Potzinger (Finance).

After completing his studies in social and economic sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU), Martin Fuhrmann began his professional career in the retail division of a large European electronics retailer and then moved to the Austrian branch of a leading global logistics company as Head of Controlling. In 2005, he joined the former Böhler-Uddeholm IT subsidiary “Intesy” as Head of Controlling. Between 2008 and 2014, he held various management positions in the voestalpine Böhler Welding Group. In 2014, Martin Fuhrmann took over as Managing Director of voestalpine High Performance Metals International GmbH and Head of the International Region within the Sales and Service Division.

In my new role as a member of the Management Board of the High Performance Metals Division, I am looking forward to working with a highly ambitious team from different countries and cultures. The High Performance Metals Division is incredibly diverse, both in terms of our product range and, above all, our employees. We want to utilize this strength and make it even more tangible for our customers.

The voestalpine Group's High Performance Metals Division focuses on the production and processing of high-performance materials and customer-specific services such as heat treatment, high-tech surface treatment and additive manufacturing processes with increasing use of digital technologies. It offers its customers material availability and processing as well as local contacts through its unique sales and service network at around 140 locations worldwide.
