Production and Delivery of "Stringers" until 2012–Another Success for the Aerospace Division.
Roll Forming Corporation (RFC), a subsidiary of the listed voestalpine AG, was awarded a long-term contract by Spirit AeroSystems to supply special sections for commercial aircrafts. These special sections are so-called "Stringers" which are used to enforce the fuselages of the Boeing models 747, 767 and 777. Production and delivery schedules cover the next 7 years, the total monetary contract amount has not been released.
With this program, RFC (with production locations in Kentucky and Indiana) is able to further increase its Aerospace business volume. The Aerospace division's customer base also includes other established aircraft builders such as EADS's Airbus or Cessna. RFC also produces special sections for the NASA Space-Shuttle program.
