We provide the steel structures for manual and automatic high bay warehouse operations. They can be designed with special protective atmospheres, as air-conditioned warehouses, refrigerated warehouses, and much more, depending on the intended use.
High bay warehouses
High bay warehouses optimize the use of expensive logistics space close to city centers. Our specialist voestalpine Krems Finaltechnik has extensive know-how in this particular industry. Our expertise lies in high bay warehouses in silo design: steel structures which act as a load-bearing substructure for the roof and facade. The fully automatic warehouses can reach heights of 50 m—a warehousing advantage from which logistics companies in the world’s conurbations benefit in particular.
Tailor-made steel sections produced in-house are used to form the complete supporting structure for automated high bay warehouses. Working closely with the customer, during the sales and project planning phase, and later during implementation, our employees develop the best possible easy-to-assemble and intelligent steel structures which are both strong and lightweight. The high-precision profiles ensure that the required tolerances are met even under high thermal load or wind pressure, so that automated operating devices can move precisely to all positions on the rack at any time.
We support local construction site logistics by delivering the components ready for assembly and just in time, and in accordance with all required quality guidelines. Our test bench in Krems is just one way in which we ensure the load-bearing safety of our pallet carriers and other components.

Bringing the shelves to the packers instead of the other way around—this is the idea behind CarryPick systems. Autonomous transport robots bring mobile racks for picking. The goods are then picked and the shipment is put together. We weld open and closed sections from our in-house production to create the CarryPick racks used in this logistics solution.
Our NEDCON Steelbot racking is a beam-type miniload racking system for small goods and fully optimized for use with robotic systems. This system allows easy expansion making it a good solution for modern logistics and storage needs. -

Our shelving system is a cost-effective storage solution for small goods in a manually operated warehouse. The system is easy to expand and adjust. It complies with FEM 10.2.06 guidelines and is available in any RAL color, including your brand colors. - Flow racking
We offer flow racking systems for small goods. These systems use gravity to move goods to the pick location. This ensures uninterrupted order picking, as the next product rolls forward automatically. The racks are easy to assemble and adjustable due to unique rollers and profile strings. Special warehouses
Our warehousing systems can manage any variety of stored goods. As well as automated line, pallet, and channel warehouses, we develop and build a wide range of special warehouses, for particularly heavy and bulky goods, for example.
Cantilever racks are the right solution for full-length sawn timber or wide steel plates, for example. With widely protruding arms, they are a safe solution for storing tubes, beams, boards, and plates. We offer them constructed both from hot-rolled steel as well as cold-rolled sections—screwed, not welded. This version is particularly suitable for automated warehouses. They can be effortlessly extended, supply lines can be easily installed, and they have a significantly lower net weight. We also erect cantilever racks in silo design according to customer requirements.
Our special warehouses also offer optimal storage for special stored goods with individual loads of up to 30 tons, such as coils, paper rolls, car bodies, and much more. Even multi-storey car parks can be built using this construction method.
Automation and digital support
We support warehouse logistics worldwide with automated solutions and digital offerings. These include pallet and shuttle systems as well as 3D planning support from NEDCON.

We erect automated beam-type pallet racking systems up to an overall height of 35 m. With our in-house engineering, production, and assembly departments, we manufacture these systems to meet all customer specifications.
The pallet racks can be easily combined with small parts warehouses or extended with flow racks, mezzanine floors, picking applications, and conveyor belts. NEDCON’s semi-automatic pallet shuttle system is the ideal solution for the compact storage of bulk goods. Forklifts need only drive up to the rack structure where they receive or hand over the pallet from the shuttle; the shuttle takes care of the storage or retrieval.

Our sales partners can download the NEDCON configurator to meet (almost) all customer wishes. This 3D application allows racking systems to be designed with ease, and adapted to special customer requirements. By referencing the most frequently used component combinations, complete quotes for manual pallet racking systems can be generated in just ten minutes without the need for specialist expertise. The app allows resellers to access information such as drawings, design programs, or a NEDCON image database from their own web portal.

It includes our collision protection solutions for racks: cost-effective, robust, and intelligently designed stiffeners for racks, which prevent transport vehicles from damaging uprights and base plates. In addition, free-standing defenders intercept colliding vehicles and protect the particularly vulnerable corner uprights. And last but not least our corner protectors who guide forklifts passing too closely to the racks and absorb the impact in case of a collision.
