I have been part of group-IT since July 1, 2022 and applied for a position in group-IT through a recruitment agency. The HR team then suggested another position that was a better fit for me and my CV. Since then, I've been a data protection officer in the Strategy & Governance department.
In my job, I review data protection and compliance, provide project support on legal issues and data protection, and coordinate data protection information at voestalpine subsidiaries. I also give individual and group training sessions on data protection topics and am always available to answer questions.
What I like most about my job is working with people and finding and working out solutions. I enjoy communicating the importance of data protection to employees and working with a wide variety of colleagues. Through the different ideas and creativity, we simply find better approaches to solutions. A concrete highlight of my work was a project on the strategic alignment of the IT structure so that group-IT is well prepared for future challenges.
group-IT also offers its employees a lot in terms of benefits. We are flexible with working hours and have the option of working in a home office. The legendary "dumpling vending machine" at the Linz plant site, the canteen and employee profit-sharing are also great benefits. What I particularly like about group-IT is the humanity, which is sometimes lacking elsewhere. Employees are valued and cared for.
