As a network engineer, I manage the CSC department (Department IT Communication) and, together with my team, I am responsible for the implementation and operation of the LAN/WLAN. For those who don't know CSC, we are one of six departments of Corporate IT Services and provide global services for the entire voestalpine. As of June 2023, it will be 15 years that I have been working for group-IT, having switched from Intensy in 2008. And I don't regret this decision at all.
At group-IT, I face new challenges every day together with my team and there is always something going on here. That is also something that I like about my job. For me, success means successfully meeting the goals and challenges I set myself. Just like the numerous projects in the past that I look back on fondly, such as the LAN-NEU project, I always look forward to new tasks and the variety that comes with them.
But of course, I am not alone in these projects. My co-workers are also involved in them, and I have to say that I really appreciate working with them. We are a super team and can talk openly and honestly with each other at any time.
When I think about our benefits in group-IT, I know that I can consider myself lucky. Because there are a lot of benefits for all voestalpine employees, and some of them also clearly set voestalpine apart from other employers. For me, for example, the employee stock ownership plan and the pension plan definitely stand out.
