I first heard about voestalpine group-IT from an acquaintance. It sounded pretty exciting, so I then decided to do a one-month internship in September 2022. I really liked it and wanted to continue working at group-IT. I was then part of the team as a student employee as early as November. I study JUS at the Johannes Kepler University Linz on the side and worked as a student employee in a law firm for three years before I started at group-IT.
My tasks at group-IT are very varied. I helped with a presentation for a group-wide project and also with meetings on data protection and data law issues. I also handle the design of PowerPoints and SharePoint pages and do legal research on data protection. At group-IT, I also learned, above all, how collaboration really works in a company and how to make it successful.
What I like most about my job is the variety of tasks and activities I can take on here. I work with many different teams and also the management. A highlight for me is definitely the change project. Here I can get involved and also have creative freedom. The whole project is simply a highlight for me because it is so relevant for the entire company. What I really like about my colleagues and the team is the cordial cooperation, the helpfulness and the support.
As far as the benefits at group-IT are concerned, I am particularly enthusiastic about the flexibility of the working hours and the home office option. I also love the canteen with reasonable prices and the good equipment. The health services offered by the occupational medicine department are also a plus.
My advice to other young professionals is to be open to any tasks and new challenges. It is important to be present everywhere to make contacts and to learn. You should just be brave, try things out and make an effort.
