As a mechanical technician you will service and repair components and assemblies for operating and production facilities. The production and assembly and disassembly of machine parts is also part of your job.
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
As a forging technician, you will produce forging parts, primarily for the aircraft industry or for other purpose-built forging parts. You will learn about open die forging and drop forging, including the equipment, devices, machinery and systems involved.
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
As a materials technician, you will test the properties of different materials using mechanical, physical or chemical processes. In addition, you will learn about hardening processes and non-destructive testing.
Apprenticeship period: 3 years
As a machining technician you will produce workpieces and components for machines and equipment. They will be made using machining production processes such as turning, milling and grinding.
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
As a mechatronics technician specialising in automation technology & robotics at voestalpine BÖHLER Aerospace, you will optimise our production processes. You will work with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will set up automation processes for mechatronic systems, put them into operation, test them and document everything. You will also be there when things go wrong and rectify faults in robotic systems.
Apprenticeship period: 4 years
As a welding technician, you will be joining metallic materials to machine parts, claddings, containers, scaffolding, etc. You will select the welding consumables and the welding process that is most suited to the material.
Apprenticeship period: 3.5 years
As a mechatronics technician, you will test and configure all of the operational and production facilities in connection with their mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Your duties will also consist of programming and the correction of defects and errors in the programs.

As a process control technician, you will do maintenance and repair work on all of the operational and production facilities. You will work on installing systems and operations buildings. Carrying out measurement, control and regulation technology work will also be a part of your duties. In addition to that, you will be responsible for the testing, maintenance and operations of systems for measurement, control and regulation technology and you will gain knowledge in the fields of hydraulics, pneumatics and SPS programming.
Apprenticeship period: 4 years
As an IT technician (information technology specialising in plant technology) you are responsible for the (hardware) technology in our companies. As a technician, you can advise on which hardware/software is suitable for a specific application and implement the procurement and assembly/installation of devices and systems. You correct errors and malfunctions and provide advice and assistance in maintenance tasks. Together with other colleagues, you are also responsible for ensuring that our production facilities and machine tools function smoothly and you continuously correct faults.
