Target reached! 700,000 euros for charitable projects

Since 1 March 2024, our employees have been moving the world – and themselves – across the Group and around the world. Through their sporting activities, they collected digital “cares” in the second round of the voestalpine cares run, which are converted into voestalpine donations and benefit international aid projects.

The challenging sum of 1.1 million digital cares points worth EUR 700,000 had to be collected during the voestalpine cares run. Thanks to the great commitment, the cares account was even closed two days earlier than planned – on 20 May – and the result is impressive:
More than 1.1 million cares worth EUR 700,000, a total of 5,754 employees from 41 countries in just over 11 weeks- that is the outstanding result of the voestalpine cares run. With sporting activities such as running, walking, hiking, hand biking and wheelchair driving, the digital cares were collected, which unlocked donations from voestalpine for charitable causes step by step. It was not about record times or the longest distance, but about the sum of all participants who want to make a difference together.

Whether at a running meeting of the cares run Ambassadors, participation in a running event or a walk together during the lunch break – the voestalpine community spurred each other on in friendly competition and achieved the donation target.

By taking part in the voestalpine cares run, our employees from all over the world have not only done something good for their health, but have also set a social example. I am particularly pleased that, thanks to their great commitment, we have once again reached the maximum donation amount of EUR 700,000 for international aid projects.
