Our products form the basis of modern life, but they are often invisible in everyday life . Whether in the home, in sustainable energy generation, in private transport, when travelling comfortably by plane or on the world’s railways – our products are indispensable.
We encounter our products every day: on the way to work, at home in the kitchen or in our leisure time. They have become an integral part of our lives , even if they are often not obvious at first glance. One example is mobility. Our products can be found in cars, trains and aeroplanes. We supply the automotive industry with bodywork, drive systems and safety-relevant parts: Our products can be found in almost all automotive assemblies. We also support e-mobility with our electrical steel for electric motors and lightweight components. But our products are also impressive off the road – we are the global market leader in railway infrastructure systems and ensure safe and efficient transport.
Our products are also indispensable at home. They can be found in many household appliances: From the stainless steel panelling of a refrigerator to the mechanisms of a washing machine – our durable and corrosion-resistant materials guarantee a long service life and reliable function. Even smartphones contain a piece of voestalpine, as our ultra-pure plastic mould steel is used in mobile phones. And anyone who has a photovoltaic system at home also benefits from our products, which range from special profiles and tubes to complete system solutions made from our sustainable steel.
But our products also provide indirect support. Materials, engineered products and steel strip are the perfect basis for systems in the food industry, such as cutting or grinding tools. And we are also convincing when it comes to sustainable energy generation: our steel products ensure sustainable power generation in wind turbines on land and at sea – as tower shafts, gear parts and connecting elements.
Clearly visible, but not immediately obvious, that our products play a role in this leisure facility: The skate park in Urfahr – one of the largest in Austria – is now being comprehensively revitalised in cooperation with voestalpine and raised to a new level. More than 200 m² of high-quality steel sheets in our new CO2-reduced greentec steel edition are being used.
The skate park with its new name “voestalpine Plaza” combines sport and industrial culture in a unique way through the use of materials such as Corten steel, expanded metal and recycled steel components. The state-of-the-art equipment and well thought-out design make it a highlight for sports enthusiasts. Our materials and expertise contribute to the design of this special place and create a unique atmosphere.
Construction work on the new skate park will begin in spring 2025 and should be completed in the course of the year. Our apprentices are also involved in assembling the elements and can thus contribute their expertise.
